NEW: The CalAssist Mortgage Fund

The CalAssist Mortgage Fund provides financial relief to California homeowners whose properties have been destroyed or deemed uninhabitable due to recent disasters. The program offers: *Up to three months of mortgage payments, capped at $20,000 per household *No repayment required — this is direct assistance, not a loan *Payments issued directly to the lender A total of $105 million in funding has been allocated statewide. Applications are free, simple, and completed online at CalHFA.ca.gov/CalAssist. Funds are limited, so homeowners affected by recent disasters are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
